Adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Northwest Las Vegas
Start from zero or sharpen what you have
Teens and adults, all levels · Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 8:30pm

Adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 8:30pm, straight after the 6:00pm class, so a parent can train on the same trip that brought their child in. That pairing works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, when the 6:00pm class is kids Jiu Jitsu. On Wednesday the 6:00pm class is MMA. The class is genuinely mixed level. Complete beginners train next to experienced belts, which is how Jiu Jitsu has always worked and is the fastest way to learn: the person who has been doing this for six years is the person who will keep you safe and tell you what you are doing wrong. If you have never trained anything in your life, this is a normal place to start.

Frequently Asked Questions
I have never done any martial art. Am I going to be the only one?
No, and this is the single most common thing we hear at the door. Most people who walk in have never trained anything. You will not be thrown into sparring on night one, you will not be expected to know terminology, and you will be paired with someone whose job is to help you rather than to win. Jiu Jitsu has a culture of taking care of new people, because everyone in the room remembers being the new person. Take the two free classes and see for yourself before you commit to anything.
Am I too old or too out of shape to start?
You get in shape by training, not before training. The warm up is scalable, the drilling is at your pace, and you decide the intensity of your own live training. We have members who started in their late thirties and forties with no athletic background at all. Jiu Jitsu rewards technique and timing over athleticism, which is exactly why an older, calmer, more patient beginner often progresses faster than a young athlete who tries to muscle everything.
Do I need to buy a gi before I start?
No. Wear board shorts or workout shorts and a t-shirt with no zippers or buttons for your two free classes, and we have a few clean loaner gis available if you want to try training in one. If you decide to stay, we sell gis at the gym and can point you at Venum and CK Fight Life if you want to order your own. Nobody expects you to spend money before you know whether you like the sport.
What actually happens in a class?
Class opens with a warm up: mobility movements, a light jog, core work and stretching. Then the instructor demonstrates the technique for the night and breaks it down, and you drill it with a partner while he corrects people around the room. The last portion is live training, or rolling, where you apply what you have been working on against a resisting partner. As a beginner you will be paired with experienced training partners who control the pace, and you can sit out any round you want.
