Physical activity and risk

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and grappling are physically demanding contact activities that carry an inherent risk of injury, including but not limited to strains, sprains, bruises, mat burn, joint injuries and more serious injury. No instruction, supervision or safety practice can eliminate that risk. By training at Fight For Us Jiu Jitsu you accept it, and you will be asked to sign a waiver reflecting that before you step on the mat.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this website is medical advice. Consult a physician before beginning any new physical training program, particularly if you have an existing injury, a heart condition, are pregnant, or have any medical condition that could be affected by strenuous exercise. Tell your instructor about any injury or condition before class.

Self defense

Our programs teach martial arts skill in a controlled training environment. Training does not guarantee your safety in any real world confrontation, and no responsible instructor would claim otherwise. Outcomes in a real altercation depend on circumstances entirely outside anyone's control. Nothing here should be taken as encouragement to use force. Avoiding a confrontation is always the better outcome.

Educational content

The guides on this site are general information written for people considering training. They are not a substitute for qualified in-person instruction, and no technique should be attempted from written description without supervision. Cost figures described in our guides are general market observations for the Las Vegas area, not our prices and not a quote.

Results

Progress in martial arts depends on consistency, individual ability and many other factors. We make no promise of any particular rate of progress, belt timeline, competition result or fitness outcome.
